I feel that time is so delicate in this moment. It’s as if I make every decision with crystalline intuition.
I have been excepted into the Caux Intern Programme in Switzerland. It is a leadership conference where youths gather to be educated and empowered through entering dialogue about how we can make positive global change. I however with great disappointment must decline this opportunity.
I have just been casted in King Lear at the Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum in Topanga. This prestigious company is flipping the gender roles. What a concept, woman with the power of Kings and Dukes. This is a rather new avenue for me as I haven’t touched theater or Shakespeare in nearly 10 years. I waited close to 4 hours (on their 3rd day of auditions) to present my 1 minute monolouge; just to have been given a call back was enough assurance that I am indeed good at what I do. At my call back I performed my piece and than was asked to do a cold read with a french accent. I said no problem. I got off stage doubting my ability, practiced for 5 minutes, came back and nailed it. I will be the King of France.
I also have been casted as Saren in Equitism. Equitism reached its Kickstarter goal of $32,000 and we intend to make that just the beginning. Saren, is a painter, she is fearless, a young woman who is also the most skilled at swords. This is a story set in a medieval era in some alternate universe that tells the ever long tell of gender inequality and the journey women go through to find their lonesome companion of self worth. It culminates in a battle of swords in a human chess game. I also have been entrusted as a consultant/producer to aid in this creative collaboration.
To create projects with a message intended to awaken awareness is precisely my desire as an artist.
